Wasserkuppe Approach

Wasserkuppe is another hill in the Rhön mountain range. It is considered to be the birthplace of gliding flight and Germany's highest airfield (about 3000 feet / 900 meters above sea level). Its steep runway can only be approached and left from the east. This is the view from the west. The radome was used by US and French air forces.
